When we blend two brands together we think about what will enhance both marketing efforts visually and conceptually. Here we go – a tile company out of California blends with local artisans in Minneapolis. The chevron pattern of Calcutta gold marble is the perfect backdrop to the bulbous shapes of the handmade pottery. And the wood cutting board? We sourced that in Massachusetts on a shoot for Andersen Windows…and that’s a whole other hybrid marketing story of it’s own. Featured in the current issue of Midwest Home magazine with Photographer Tim Nehotte.

The bstyle team flew down to gulf shores to find the quintessential Floridian cottages for Spaces magazine. It was warm and we had all sorts of adventures to the local wholesale florist and up in Bonita Springs. All in all we shot about 10 pages of editorial in just a few days and had just enough time to walk the beaches the next day!

The bstyle design team worked on six set designs including one cute kitchen and five adorable bathrooms. We built the sets in a day light studio with vendor partnerships in the kitchen and bath industries. Next, we cast talent and then art directed each shoot over the course of several weeks. Three of our sets are still up to be photographed for editorial in the coming month. Thank you Tim Nehotte Photography and the marketing team at American Standard for allowing us to create such important work – we are so grateful!
We ventured out to one of the oldest properties on Lake Minnetonka to shoot the 2013 Pantone Color of Year – Emerald green. The rug was just featured in Interior Design magazine – one of kind – from a local collector/retailer. Spring is in the air!

Here they come – lots of shots from our Sub-Zero/Wolf rebranding initiative! This first kitchen was a blend of raw cement walls and counter tops mixed with warm woods and cork floors ala 1970s era California Contemporary. We had the great pleasure working with Alec Hemer out of New York to document our art direction and custom build-out. As new products are released, we’ll be sharing the entire three-month shoot

We are so grateful to our clients and vendor partners who have allowed us to shoot editorial on these kitchen sets – 4 large working kitchens that we designed and built with a whole lot of passion and love over the last months – lot’s more to come as we share the creative both locally and internationally. Special thanks to Milo, Troy and the rest of bstyle team for all the superior work! Round 2 anyone?

bstyle worked hard to create the floating sensation in Target’s falling campaign. How did we do it? We rigged chicken wire behind each item and hung them from an intricate framework above the set. Thanks to Prep Stylist Earle and Kathy for helping our cause – and to one of our favorite Art Directors for allowing us to play – Kristen Hasler/O&Co. Every day is a new creative day – what’s up next? Kitchens for an international luxury brand…

Team bstyle designed and built a store within a studio for the several weeks shoot. Thousands of skus were placed and gondolas positioned – we even filled out a pharmacy with commercial bottles and box containers. We also shot on location for several weeks in consumer’s homes. This was a big project last summer and took about two months to shoot for the completely new library. We were very proud to be a part of the new Walgreen’s branding and their new marketing efforts – great job everyone!

When those hot days dissolve into starry nights…one glorious summer evening running in the warm waters and on sandy beaches…we shot until the sun was gone. What we captured was all in one shot – big splashes, flickering flames and bounding exuberance – Happy Summer!

For a few weeks in May, while Barbara was gathering blog material for the shelter industry, she was able to photograph and write short stories about Minnetonka Moccasins in Europe. Crisscrossing Berlin and Paris, Barbara featured these white Thunderbirds at some of the usual and unusual sites. Her custom blogs entries were featured on Minnetonka Moccasin’s facebook page. May was a busy month for studiobstyle – they completed a several months long refresh for American Standard Brands, a refresh for Minnetonka Moccasin and a refresh for Target’s Home Brands.
